Blue Turner started guitar lessons at age eight, in Toronto, Canada. Throughout his teens, he played in various bands, gigging at parties & school dances. After finishing Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Blue immediately went on the road, travelling coast to coast, playing rock clubs like the Gasworks in Toronto, one- nighters and music festivals. Blue describes one of his interesting escapades here:
"I must have been all of twenty one, and we were headlining an outdoor music festival in Quebec. This festival was put on by, no less than nine biker gangs from all over North America. There was a refrigerated tractor trailer full of beer & lots of sunshine...need I say more? We were treated like royalty, probably because of the guitars and smoke bombs etc... and were given carte blanche at their club house. Needless to say, we played very well that weekend.
The next year, Blue auditioned and was accepted into the Humber College Music Program in Toronto, majoring in Jazz guitar. During these three years, to make ends meet, Blue continued to play live, and would teach guitar at the local music store. At one point, Blue carried a roster of 30 students.
After college, Blue continued playing on the road and later met & travelled throughout the USA with Juno award winner (Canadian Grammy equivalent), Myles Cohen (formerly of Myles & Lenny) who encouraged Blue to concentrate more on his talent in song writing. Not long after, Blue was signed to three publishing companies in Nashville TN, Los Angeles CA & Delta BC who fortunately, have been able to connect with some new rising stars in the USA, & recorded some of Blue's songs for their CDs.
Blue continues to play and write. He is currently preparing for pre production of his solo CD "Turnin' Blue".
